ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Liz discovered her passion for theater early. Having always enjoyed the pleasure of telling other people what to do, her goal was to become a theatrical director. After finishing graduate school, she embarked upon a career as an Instructor in the Performing Arts Center of a liberal arts college in northern Illinois. For ten years Liz taught, directed and managed house operations for a vibrant performing arts program and wrote or re-wrote a number of plays. She lived, breathed and celebrated in her theatrical life. After receiving tenure and an Associate Professorship, she promptly took a well-deserved sabbatical.
She soon discovered she was suffering from burnout, and decided her passion was no longer in teaching. Her real passion was for writing. She turned her talents to screenwriting, eventually writing and/or collaborating on fifteen screenplays. One of her scripts was a quarter-finalist, another a semi-finalist, for the Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowship in screenwriting sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
19th century American Theater History has always been of particular interest and she fashioned the Backstage Mystery Series to detail the life and adventures of her main character, actress and amateur sleuth, Lillian Nolan. The first three books in the series, A Walking Shadow, Foul Deeds Will Rise, and Forms of Things Unknown are published and she is almost finished with the fourth, Mortal In Folly.
Born in Chicago and reared in the northern suburbs, Liz now makes her home in metro Atlanta with her ever-patient husband, and two quirky dachshunds.
